Julie Goodridge

Julie Goodridge and her long time partner, Hillary Goodridge, were the lead plaintiffs in the ground breaking legal case seeking marriage

rights for same sex couples in Massachusetts, Goodridge v. Dept. of Public

Health. As clients of Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD), they

joined with six other couples in 2001 seeking the right to marry for all same-sex couples.  On November 18th, 2003, the Supreme Judicial Court of the State of Massachusetts granted the gay and lesbian citizens of Massachusetts the right to wed. Julie and Hillary were married on May 17, 2004.  They live in Boston with their 9 year old daughter, Annie.
